It seems that lately more companies are realizing the rise of the designer as a consumer. What was once considered a niche market is a growing customer base that can't be ignored.
Even large corporate companies like HP are beginning to cater to the artist. Case in point is HP's new desktop machine dubbed 'Sprout'.
It's a desktop computer aimed at creators, armed with a mat like surface where users can sketch with their hands while an overhead camera captures your every move. Check it out in action:
One of the coolest features is the built in overhead scanner which makes uploading your drawing or even physical object into Photoshop a breeze.
It's to be seen if artists and designers will adopt this new product, but nonetheless it's refreshing that companies like HP perceive the creative industry as a viable and important market. It's a great time to be an artist!
