Henning Kleist

3D artist Henning Kliest  created this replica model of the imperial crown of the Holy Roman Empire for an international exhibition “The Heritage of Charlemagne” (2014), in cooperation with the European project Cradles of European Culture and the Hofburg Museum of Vienna.

Using photo references, Henning created this stunning piece using 3D modeling and 3D printing technology. This project represents a growing trend of museums utilizing emerging technology to recreate replicas of priceless artifacts that could not otherwise travel from exhibition to exhibition in different countries.
