New Ground Breaking Materials for Your Texturing Needs


Allegorithmic, makers of the popular material and texture creation software Substance Painter and Substance Designer recently announced exciting new ground materials.

Created from scans of various types of rock, sand and soils, these hybrid materials can be used to breathe realism into your 3D environment work for games, animation and VFX.

Allegorithmic claims that these "hybrid materials" are the ideal since they contain high resolution scanned maps with the tweak-ability of the materials.

What this basically means is allowing the artist to tweak parameters that produce custom results,  giving more creative control over the final output.

Parameters such color, brightness and normal map intensity are just some of the features that can be edited.
